I've always been told about slavery. In history class, at home, everywhere. Ever since I was young I was told about slavery of race, of culture, of religion, but no one ever told me about slavery of another creature. No one told me I would become a slave. And I definitely wasn’t told that the world would become a whole planet of slaves.
March 3, 3011; it's my birthday. My birthday present is a hike in the forest at night simply because I like things like that. I've always loved nature and this is the best present I could get. Little did I know that this could also end up being the last night I could be free, the last night anyone could be free.
“Ok you guys were going to pair up in twos one boy and one girl. Each pair has to follow a different route and meet up at the destination which will be were the fire and logs are already set up. We will explain what were doing next once we get there. Sanya and Mike you two will be pairs and will be going in this route here. Here’s your map and compass you two can get started.” One of the adults in charge of the hike says. Mike and I go off ready for adventure.
“You know it's strange we never met before this, at least not properly and now we have a whole hike ahead of us so that we do get to know each other. I think this was planed I bet…”Mike pulls me into him all of a sudden and I'm caught speechless.
“The cliff- you almost fell” he automatically pulls away leaving me where he was standing. I look where he was looking and noticed a fall that wasn’t there before. Both of us realized at that moment that this was no ordinary hike. Something was amiss and we had to find out what.
Suddenly almost as if on cue we heard a scream from Mike’s sister. Mike pulls out his x3 red nokia and calls Julie to see what's going on.
“Hello Julie? What's going on? Are you ok? We heard you scream what happened?...what? You didn’t scream? Are you sure? Oh ok yea no everything’s fine let me know if you need anything ok? Bye” he hangs up the phone and looks at me. “She didn’t scream but I'm sure someone up there is hurt we should call the councilors” sounding almost frightened he calls the head and lets him know about the scream. No one seemed to hear it except for them two but the man said he will check it out anyway.
Walking in the forest surrounded by trees, I suddenly realized they couldn’t see the sky at all and that there was no moon out which would leave them in complete darkness but there was enough light for them to see clearly. I was just about to point this out to Mike when suddenly from one of the trees the leaves started to shuffle and a small dark form seemed to be coming right at us. I screamed hiding myself in Mike’s shirt. When he pats me letting me know its ok I look up to find a dead bird on the floor. Feeling sorry for the little bird I begin to cry. But then the bird’s head shoots up and blood shot eyes stare right at me and I know this bird is no ordinary bird. Both Mike and I run as far as we can until we are sure we have lost sight of the bird.
“We should warn the others to keep a look out. This place is dangerous they can get hurt. I’ll call the girls and you call the boys” I pant. We call all our friends but find that none of them answer.
“Maybe they reached camp already. We’ll go and see at least there we’ll be safe…I hope” Mike tries reassuring me only to end up doubting himself. On our way to the camp we both receive a call simultaneously. Thinking it's our friends answering our call we answer the phone.
“Be for warned there are much more terrors to come” is all the two of us hear and the phone is then cut from the other line. Knowing we received the same call we rush to our destination with all the more desperateness
We reach camp but no ones there. I set up the fire and the two of us sit on a log hoping our friends are ok and will come soon. We begin to distract ourselves by telling each other what we’ve learned about the other person.
“You’re brave but caring, you worry about others and your very sweet and are careful not to hurt anyone” I tell him.
“And you are sweet, but terrified, you can get very easily upset. You are sensitive and caring for both humans and animals, but you get worried easily and can become very protective.” He says smiling.
We look into each others eyes and he draws near me, closer and closer…suddenly there is an ear piercing laughter that surrounds us. We look up and find all our friends walking towards us. Almost relieved I start to relax but then tense once more when I feel a strange aura in the air. I squeeze Mike’s hand hoping he feels it to but seeing the relief in his eyes tells me he doesn’t. Mike tells our ‘friends’ what we had gone through almost desperate for an explanation that would make us feel stupid.
“Ha-ha you guys are hilarious! We did the scream and agreed to avoid your calls simply so you to could get closer through fear” Alex almost throws out. Something about it seemed forceful almost as if he wasn’t sure he knew what the words meant.
I ask them about the bird and the call but they said that they don’t know anything about it. Something isn’t right they didn’t even ask questions in fact they didn’t even find what I said strange! I look at Mike but he doesn’t seem to be getting the hint.
“Ok so we’ll go back now through the routes from which we came and meet back at the bus” the man in charge says. I almost scream out in protest but it doesn’t seem to bother him. “Ok fine we’ll all go together is that fine?” he says sounding a bit irritated…or at least trying to. As we follow the man I whisper to Mike my suspicions hoping no one would hear but of course I never did learn to talk softly and instead everyone heard every word.
“Very good Sanya! You should be a spy!” the man’s voice gets deeper and darker as he speaks. “Now shut up and come! Your friends are waiting in the cave just ahead” he booms.
He takes us into the cave and we find all our friends tied up and their mouths are taped shut. The female who was disguised as Julie ties the two of us together and throws us on the floor with the rest. She removes the tape from everyone’s mouth saying that we can talk simply because there is no one left to hear our screams. All of our friends start talking at once trying to tell us that there is something more then just simple kidnapping going on.
“Ok hold on so these people are green?! And they aren’t wearing masks they just simply turn into whomever they want? You guys have you lost your minds? How is that possible? They’d have to be aliens for that!” as I say the last sentence I automatically hate myself and wish I could take it back. There is enough proof that they weren’t simply humans I mean how can humans do all of that without a single mess up?
“Very good! Another amazing achievement from the human! You seem to know your stuff! Were superior to you and we have come to destroy you! This whole planet should become our slave! How I enjoy watching your ridiculous believes!” the alien that had disguised herself as Julie now had green scales and long antennas coming out of her head. She had elf ears and seemed to have the perfect body figure. Her voice like sharp bells rang through the cave and shook the place from the core.
As I sat there hopelessly watching the alien prepare for destruction I realized I had my laser in my pocket. I took it out and while making sure she stays distracted I release all my friends. I leave one of my friends still tied telling him to distract her. He begins to flirt and ask questions as the rest of us look for weapons. We find some neat things like freeze rays and laser canons as well as things like machines that could bring people back from the dead and everything. We grab the things we could use to save ourselves and hide under the tables surrounding us. I blast the freeze ray at the female’s feet and she screams a blood curtailing cry. We release our friend and run before the rest of the aliens reach the room. We race to the army headquarters telling them of what we learned. They get all the world armies together and come up with the perfect plan to destroy the aliens. While the military is busy with that we get busy on helping the scientist create things similar to what the aliens had as well as create ways to be able to do things that their body's did. War has begun.
The aliens easily defeated the army ranks even with the nuclear weapons and the weapons that we had stolen from the cave. It seemed that the world was not strong enough even as one unit to save itself. As the countries got destroyed and people were killed one by one; my friends and I began to lose hope. Then I remembered how the female alien was distracted by our normal everyday lives and ordered that the message be sent to act as if nothing was happening. If nothing else it would at least buy us time. As the aliens slowly got distracted my friends and I stole some of their weapons and got the scientist to make similar ones but stronger in every way and made weapons that had the features of every weapon. Feeling our chances of survival rise we began to gain hope and the war was once again started. Although we managed to kill more aliens then before we still were at the disadvantage and it was quite clear that the aliens were getting stronger through the war while the people were getting weaker through disease and war kill. Our weapons were soon taken away and we were left on our stomachs dead and useless.
Soon the whole world woke up once more but not alive- undead. We were forced to make thrones for the superior aliens and were expected to do their bidding. We were given no food for zombies don’t eat and had no breaks for zombies don’t need them. We are in rags that never need to be changed and are punished not by whips but by lasers and then brought back to do the bidding. If we argue we are punished, if we make a mistake we are punished, if the master is bored we are punished, if there is no bidding to be done then we are punished, if we finish our work early we are punished.
The world is a round ball of red clouds and destruction is the only answer. There is no love or care, there is no romance or affair, there is no marriage for there is no one to marry and there is no happy ending. There is no ending, just an eternity of suffering.
from the world you know it to the real world seen through imagination...dont forget what your mind knows

Follow Your Dreams
Walking along the dark hall full of closed doors, my mind tells me they won’t open but my heart says they will. I feel a sense of light in my soul guiding me to the right door. Since I was a child I had this longing to dance, I had the talent but now I want to show it to the world. My parents and teachers, my friends and foes all told me to let it go. There was only one boy I remember that told me “Follow your dreams”. Soon the hall lights up and all the doors began to open but one door in particular drew me to it and I knew I was right not to give up. I followed my heart to destiny’s door. I clutch my bag and begin to sweat as I draw nearer to the door. My mind starts to question “What if I don’t get it? What if it all goes to waste?” I begin to feel nervous and start to doubt myself as I walk through the door. A tall man with a slim figure, green eyes, fair skin and a bright smile ushers me to my seat. I sit across from him with only a round red wood table in between. Hours pass as he asks questions and I answer some of them having nothing to do with my job. Soon I relaxed then I suddenly realized I knew this man. The interview was over and it was time to leave. I had gotten the job but I couldn’t get myself up. This was the boy who told me “Follow your dreams”.

What a Quote Can Possibly Mean
A quote has a meaning, weather it be a useful life lesson or simply something to entertain it always has a meaning. Of course no one but the person who said the quote can really know what the quote really means but you can always make an educated guess. “There are…two educations; one should teach you how to make a living and the other how to live.” This quote by J.T. Adams has a meaning like any other quote but what is that meaning? Why does it matter? Is it a fun quote or does it have a lesson?
This quote has a hidden message, one that has a lesson. Like a child is curious of what's behind the forbidden door we should be curious of the meanings behind quotes, songs and dialogues for who knows what we may discover. Let’s analyze this quote. First of all, there is two lessons being mentioned the first one being “…one should teach you how to make a living…” now lets see if it's true: in school a student learns the basics on how to work, how to be organized, what is expected from you, how to make connections, how to spend your earnings, etc. some examples of this would be economics, business, etc. these courses are studied in high school and then narrowed down specific subjects in college, which is why having a high school diploma isn’t enough to go far in life.
So is that it? You go to school, you learn your stuff and your done right? But then what's the second lesson? Is it also in school or is there something else we need to know? The second lesson mentioned in the quote is “…and the other how to live” so wait now your going to tell me step by step what to do? Well that can be one interpretation but a more logical consideration could be that what you see people around you do and the consequences you see for each and every action tells you what's wrong and what's right, or the benefits and set backs of a decision. Take a child for example, a three year old girl walks into the store and watches an older woman put something in her purse without paying. Now bare in mind the child is only three she doesn’t understand the concept of stealing as of yet; at first the child considers it borrowing and thinks it's ok but then that lady gets caught and yelled at and then roughly taken away. What has the child learned? Not that what the lady did is stealing but that borrowing without permission is wrong and if you take something you pay for it or you ask the person your taking from if it's ok.
Another example would be when a teenager sees her parents smoking, she will think its ok because even though she is not three she still considers that her parents can't possibly be wrong so if they’re smoking it's ok to smoke. Now she finds out her dad is sick due to the nicotine in the cigarette and automatically begins to hate smoking and soon gets upset with anyone that smokes. This teaches her that smoking is bad and you shouldn’t even try the first time because that can do enough of damage on its own.
So we have two lessons; one that helps you survive in society and the other that helps you understand the concept of good and bad. Although both being similar reasons for existence, both have their areas for learning. While life decisions are understood in school, right and wrong; good and bad are all learned in social environments and life experiences. If even one of the educations falls short the person’s life could be destroyed.
This quote, being both, a life lesson and a concept of understanding one self, exemplifies both the necessities of graduating college and the need to stay a part of society and notice the small things that haven’t been noticed before. As one of Hillary Duff’s songs quotes “…there will be no flashing neon light …” no one can tell you what the lesson is but they can tell you there is a lesson which is why I believe J.T. Adams wrote this quote: to let us know that a second lesson exists and that we need to be aware of it's presence and look for it because the lesson wont come to you, you have to go to the lesson.

Along the Broken Road
People have gone through this road many of times. People believe it brings peace, hope, joy. But what if that road is broken? What if that road caused you pain and heartache?
I'm traveling down that broken road and I simply wish I could die. Through pain and grief I've suffered, I've loved unconditionally but have never been loved, I have cried my heart out but have never been heard, I've been torn to pieces but have never been fixed. People sing songs on the mended road; I sing to on this broken road, but the song is softer, sadder, and muffled with heartache. How can I stop the bleeding? How can I stop the pain? People say I don’t need love…but what if I do? What if my world revolves around people loving me? What if I need someone to breath? What if my world ends simply because I have no one to love me? I walk along the broken road alone and I welcome anyone who wants to come along. I fall on the crack but pick all the same, I wipe my tears and hide my pain and go on. One day maybe someone will come and fix this broken road but by then I might reach the end with my muscles sore and my broken bones, with the pain and grief and a heart that bleeds. I will be loved one day but till then I must go on hard and strong along the broken road.
